Position: Chemistry Teacher

Objectives of this Role
As a Chemistry Teacher, you’ll lead engaging, hands-on learning experiences in our state-of-the-art science labs. Your instruction will focus on fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of chemical principles, aligned with international standards. You’ll empower students to experiment, analyze, and solve problems through inquiry-based learning.


Duties and Responsibilities

Instruction and Integration:

  • Design and deliver a curriculum that inspires students to explore, experiment, and understand chemistry concepts.

  • Develop, assess, and manage inquiry-based learning experiences that foster scientific thinking and collaboration.

  • Cultivate a classroom culture that reflects the school’s mission, vision, and values.

  • Encourage students to explore chemical phenomena through hands-on experiments and iterative processes.

  • Deliver rigorous, well-organized lessons to ensure students meet their academic goals.

  • Structure classwork and projects that promote teamwork while providing guided support.

  • Create a lab-based environment filled with tools, materials, and student work that inspires scientific discovery.

  • Maintain open, frequent communication with parents and stakeholders to build strong relationships.

  • Uphold the highest professional standards in all interactions with students, staff, and parents.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate chemistry principles across the curriculum and develop cross-curricular units.

  • Stay current with advancements in chemistry education and be eager to learn new tools and methodologies.

  • Participate in professional development to enhance your ability to deliver impactful science instruction.


Requirements

Education, Training, and Qualifications:

  • A relevant degree in Chemistry or a related field with a PGCE or other teaching qualification granting QTS.

  • Evidence of ongoing, relevant professional development.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of chemistry concepts and laboratory techniques.

  • Familiarity with modern teaching tools and technologies, such as virtual labs or data analysis software.

  • Experience with hands-on experiments and inquiry-based learning in a classroom setting.

  • Background in international curricula (e.g., IB, A-Level, or AP) is a plus.
